Love the lodge feeling and the excellent food in the restaurant.
Excellent food, very quiet, rustic
2 minutes driving to downtown Jasper; very beautiful and comfy cabins; Wonderful view!
I loved the view of the mountains and the water right beside it. The cabins were really nice and it is a convient location to town and trails.
The only thing i had a question about was my bill. I was paying 189 a night when i booked this stay i got a receit back saying it would be 596 and i payed 660.00 or so. I'm not sure why it was so much and i did try to contact you over the phone but did not get a reply.
Right outside of Jasper town. We got a cabin instead of a room because of our honeymoon. Breakfast was complimentary.
At first the staff was not very friendly when we had some trouble with our credit card. Later on, they were very helpful. The cabin smelled like the fireplace. The cabin and the furnishing was a little old, you could as well see it as cosy. The shower was very small. Breakfast was ok, but not worth the 14 dollars they ask for it. We payd for a room, but felt that even for the cabin we got it was too pricey.
The cabins were very small and allowed no privacy when travelling with another couple. No doors just curtains separating bedrooms
The location and the food. The location was marvelous with close proximity to woodland, rivers and wildlife. The food was excellent but expensive
I wish that the general management of the hotel facilities showed the same care as that exercised by their chef! Their failures to achieve their stated objective of excellent included: a) cold and unwelcoming room b) thin and small towels c) sheets too small for the beds, so coming off in the night d) beds not made for us on second night (no other hotel failed on this) e) only one spare blanket for a twin-bedded room f) room smallest we experienced in the hotels we used g) non-eco friendly heating/insulation (non double glazed windows and electric heating) h) poor access to rooms with no lift for luggage i) no milk for tea drinkers. j) breakfasts were just OK but served onto cold plates (the second day I took down a plastic plate which the waitress commented on, without irony, with "Hey; that's a good idea" One despairs!! k) never got tea at breakfast other than tepid (non-boiling water into a cold pot and then into a cold cup = tepid tea) One might not expect all of the above for a budget motel but this was not a budget motel! With a bit more attention to detail this could have been the best we experienced. Sadly it wasn't.
wildlife, and tourist attractions near by
The location of Tekarra lodge was good, just a short walk into Jasper township. Older style accommodation, but was clean and comfortable. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Overall, good value for money.
The location of the hotel is good
I know it is a lodge style hotel, but they could have make it cleaner and nicer inside the cabin. The place we had was very old and kind of dirty (smelly too). It was not a good experience for us at all.
Friendly staff, very good breakfast, nice location just 2 km outside town
Views from the ridge-gorgeous. Nice chairs for relaxed viewing.
Cold water in shower-when someone in adjoining cabin was also using water. Toilet flusher didn't operate well Hot water stream in sink was miniscule. Floors were gritty-certainly don't want to walk around in bare feet. Very overpriced for the level of accommodations
Loved the overlook with the adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy beer or morning coffee.
The cabin we had was very small no real space to set you luggage. Windows were open so it was noisy until 11 or so. Also barking dogs as it is pet friendly.
The lodge is perfectly located with some stunning views around. It's also just far enough out of town to be insulated from the hustle and bustle. Laundry facility proved useful with our young kids
Our accommodation was very compact, but comfy nonetheless
The price! Definitely not worth it to stay in a wooden shed however they try to wrap it up as a cabin in the Rockies! We would not stay there again. There are much more modern cabins available.
